Der B8 ist mit zwei 6.5“ Tieftontreibern in Bassreflexabstimmung bestückt. Mit seiner geringen Höhe ist er die ideale Lösung für kleine mobile Einsätze, die eine erweiterte Tiefton-Performance bei dennoch hohem Schalldruck erfordern. Der Frequenzgang erstreckt sich von 43 Hz bis 170 Hz. Wird er im 100-Hz-Modus betrieben, wird die obere Grenzfrequenz von 170 Hz auf 125 Hz herabgesetzt.Auf der Rückseite des Gehäuses ist ein Transportgriff angebracht. Ein M20 Gewindeeinsatz auf der Gehäuseoberseite erlaubt die Montage des Z5013 Kurbelstativs zur Aufnahme spezifizierter d&b Fullrange-Lautsprecher mit einem maximalen Gewicht von 8 kg. Zur Befestigung eines Querbügel ist in jeder Seitenwand je ein M8-Gewindeeinsatz integriert.Je nach Aufbauanforderungen lässt sich der B8-SUB vertikal oder horizontal einsetzen, eingebaut unter Bühnen, Treppen oder in Decken. Ebenso kann er mit kleinen d&b Mittel-Hochton-Lautsprechern geflogen werden.Das Multiplex-Gehäuse ist mit schwarzer, schlagfester Farbe lackiert. Die Lautsprecherfront ist durch ein stabiles Frontgitter geschützt, das mit einem akustisch transparenten Schaumstoff hinterlegt ist. Der Lautsprecher verfügt über zwei parallel verdrahtete NLT4-F/M-Anschlüsse.
